This is something I’ve been hacking on during my xmas/ny break. It might see the light of day eventually!

Looks very clean, in a good way – kind of golden… I was surprised to see such a square hallway for the right tunnel in the second pic. The texture on the inside of the arch on the left path seems a bit odd as the spacing between the bricks is not matching up with the spacing on the connecting walls – Particularly that super long stretch of brick =)
Certainly interesting though, I like the combined use of banded wood columns, and plain wood columns. Gets away from the “tiling textures” look of most maps, and treats it like a real material, adding to the feel of the place as a seriously made structure. For people to kill each other in.
One more quick note, I really like the smaller tile at the center of the larger tiles on the floor in the first shot, very nice detail there. This all reminds me of a bit of the 3rd level from the latest Eternal Doom, and the wooden antechamber 3/5ths through the Living End in Doom2 – the room filled with shotgun guys, imps, and an arch vile.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, all of this “in progress” of course so all of that visual stuff is subject to improvement and change.
Sweet! can’t wait for a new level by Willem!
I’ll save up some money so I can buy an old mac so I can use the software you are making one day, looking great
